Lori and Scott were married on June 27th with a ceremony at St. Martin of Tours in Bethpage and a reception at Somerley at Fox Hollow.
Scott and Lori have known each other since middle school and grew up together. They were friends for a long time but started dating when they entered their sophomore year of college, and now look where they are!
Scott proposed in August of 2013 on the beach. They had been dating for 7 years at that point, and Scott made sure to ask Lori’s parents for their blessing before they left for their vacation on the island of St. Maartin, which they had always visited every year with Scott’s family.
On the wedding day itself, Neo started with Lori, and Boy Wonder started with Scott. You could just tell that both bride and groom were both so excited for their big day, and it was fun to see that excitement spread to everyone around them.
There were so many little details that went into this wedding to showcase their personalities. Scott is a baseball player who owns his own travel baseball team, so he had a special boutonniere made out of a baseball and wore it during the reception! Lori had also made a special groom’s cake that looked like a home plate with his team’s cap.
Their families were also clearly important to them. Lori’s nephew, John Charles, was the ring bearer, and both Scott and Lori wore a small blue patch of fabric from his late mother—Scott’s in his pocket and Lori’s in the skirt of her dress.
We asked Scott and Lori what their favorite parts of the day were, and this is what they said:
My personal favorite moment was seeing the emotion on Scott’s face when they opened the doors to the church. Scott is a tough guy, and to see him tear up as I walked in really was the most special and romantic moment for me. Also, being able to see my adorable nephew John Charles as the ring bearer was just amazing. He is such a little ham in front of the camera, and he melted all my stress away that day! –Lori
My favorite moment was when I saw Lori walking down the aisle for the first time in her dress. She was stunning, and I was hit with a wave of emotion that felt like I fell in love with her all over again. Also, the reception overall was one giant favorite moment. I have a large extended family, and to have everyone in one place was very special. -Scott
